Welcome! This page is dedicated to my personal life and hobbies outside of work. Read on to learn more.
Traveling is my #1 hobby. I love exploring new cities, meeting new people, and immersing myself in other cultures. I’ve been hooked on it ever since I studied abroad in London during college.
Traveling to new places is so enjoyable for me because it’s a rapid-fire, nonstop learning experience. Immersion helps me learn like nothing else, and every new trip leaves me feeling like a more well-rounded, cultured human. I also appreciate the beautiful architecture, languages, and nature scenes that I’ve had the chance to experience.
While I’m not a seasoned world traveler by any means, I have traveled to:
Next, I’m hoping to explore Japan and Scandinavia (two separate trips, of course!).
These three go hand-in-hand for me. One of my favorite things to do is spend some time at a coffee shop with a good book or pen and paper.
I read fiction and nonfiction alike. My books of choice lately have all been related to performance consulting, but I’ve read my fair share of classics as an English Literature undergraduate.
I’ve also written a good deal of fiction, but lately I’ve devoted a lot of my creative efforts to the articles on this site and my own personal journaling.
Finally, coffee shops are the perfect literary environment for me. Caffeine and the smell of coffee beans kick my mind into overdrive, and the regular background chatter helps me lose myself in my work.
(If you’re ever in the Miami area, let me know and I can show you some of my favorite writing haunts.)
I also love to play games. I always have, and I’ve accepted that I always will. It’s no surprise why I do, either — they’re challenging, filled with learning opportunities, and goal-oriented.
My favorite games are multiplayer ones — ones where I can interact with the world around me and partner with others to accomplish shared goals.
Here are some of the games that I’ve played in the past or continue to play currently:
If you’re a gamer, feel free to reach out…maybe we can play together!
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is spend time with my partner, Taylor. Whether it’s a movie date, cooking session, or trip around the world, spending time with her makes me happier than anything.
We met during our semester abroad in Fall of 2015, and we fell in love with each other during our travels. We’re currently engaged, and we expect to get married in mid- to late- 2020.
Well, that’s enough about me! I’d love to get to know more about you and what you like to do. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to start a conversation.
